Hotel and Office on an organic food farm

For the organic food provider Tony, playze realised a Hotel lobby and an office building built out of recycled freight containers. The container architecture has become popular, especially because of the iconographic and direct reuse of material. All over the world container structures emerge.

Playze integrated traditional chinese typolgies, such as the sun protected outdoor spaces, the sequencial transition between outdoor and indoor. This traditional strategy roots in deep understanding of the climatic requirements of buildings.

On a well chosen site outside Shanghai, Tony’s Farm is growing ecologically controlled fruits and vegetables. This building will be mainly used to welcome guest at the farm. After the lobby the guest are picked up by electro cars that drive them to their hotel rooms, which will be built in a second phase.
