Communal living and working on a former industrial site.
We are delighted to have been awarded 1st place in the Binkert Areal Laufenburg competition, which we developed together with Berchtold.Lenzin Landschaftsarchitekten. Our approach, which focuses on community life on the former industrial site, has convinced the jury.
On the former industrial site, which was last used by the Binkert printing company, three new residential buildings are being developed. These will naturally blend into the historic surroundings and create a communal courtyard. The protected shed hall will be converted into a residential building with maisonette lofts, while the main building will be transformed into a creative hub with flexible spaces for businesses and service providers.
The network of communal open spaces and activities is designed to encourage spontaneous encounters between neighbors and other users of the site as part of everyday life. This will create an attractive living and working environment with which the residents can identify.
